A/R: Mayhem at K’si MMT as NPP serial callers clash over control

Armed Policemen have taken charge at the Metro Mass Transport terminal in Kumasi after rival supporters of two persons who claim to have been appointed to head the state transport company nearly clashed.

The irate supporters had gathered at the Bantama-Abrepo junction office of the MMT for a face-off Thursday morning when the police timeously arrived to ensure law and order.

One of the faction’s action was to disallow Nicholas Oduro, who claims to have been appointed by President Akufo Addo from holding himself as Director of Ashanti Regional branch of the Metro Mass Transit.

Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Organizer of NPP Daniel Agyenim Boateng who also claims to have been appointed is at post as Director.

The serial callers speaking to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said they will not allow Nicholas Oduro to operate as the head of the facility.

We already know Mr. Daniel Agyenim Boateng so we are urging Nana Addo to stop Nicholas Oduro from coming to office as Director of Ashanti Regional branch of Metro Mass Transit. A similar thing happened to Hon. Kwabena Kokofu. We all heard that he had been appointed as the Chief Executive of Forestry Commission and the next we heard that same position had later been given to Sir John. We won’t allow this to happen here in Kumasi.”

This morning’s confrontation at the terminal has slowed down operations of the company.

The Police are however working to resolve the impasse.
