Akufo-Addo receives petition for EC Boss’s removal

Kasapafmonline.com can confirm that President Akufo-Addo has been served with a petition for the removal of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission(EC), Charlotte Osei.

A section of the EC staff known as the Concerned Staff of the Electoral Commission has accused the Head of the Commission of breaching procurement regulations and disregarding administrative procedures in the management of the Electoral body.

They also charged her with cronyism and witch hunting of pro-NPP staff members.

The President is now expected to refer the petition to the Chief Justice in line with Article 146 of the constitution for a preliminary investigations.

Even before the EC Boss is formally served with a copy of the said petition, her Lawyers have threatened legal action against the petitioners and their Lawyer for alleged defamatory statement contained in the petition.
