Akufo-Addo interacts with Journalists today

President Akufo-Addo will later today hold a presser with Journalists to open up on his first six months in office after taking over the reins of power in January 7.

The President is expected to use the occasion to touch on his achievements and challenges so far and also outline the policies he intends to roll-out to enable his administration to fulfill its promises.

It is his maiden engagement with the media since the ruling party-NPP defeated the John Mahama administration in last year’s elections.

Meanwhile, Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid ahead of the Presser today said President Akufo-Addo’s engagement with the media is not for the purpose of “self-aggrandisement”.

Mr Hamid said although the President will account for his leadership to the Ghanaian populace six months into his tenure, the motive is not to hype himself and his administration.

“We’ll not come and give ourselves marks as other Presidents have done in the past and say we’ve achieved 90%, 80%. We don’t believe that it is proper for us to set exam questions, answer them and mark them and grade ourselves and so on.  So that won’t be the purpose at all,” he said in Press briefing Monday to highlight on the upcoming programme for Tuesday.
