Over 20 independent candidates from NPP stock; a case of failed leadership?

downloadInteresting happenings in NPP. Over 20 people are contesting as independent candidates in the NPP.

The Irony of it is that, these are hardcore campaigners of the NPP flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.

1. The Opare Hammond, Head of Akufo-Addo prayer team and former administrator of the party, filed on the last day in Akropong as Independent candidate.

2. Hon. Kwabena Kokofu, immediate Chairman of the Akufo-Addo Campaign team in Ashanti Region, filed to contest as independent candidate in the Bantama Constituency.

3. Nii Noi Nortey- Klottey Korle, Campaign Manager of Akufo-Addo 2015 primaries and Former Chairman has filed to contest as independent in Klottey Korle Constituency.

4.Hon. James Yamumbe- NPP MP for Tatale. First time the party won the Tatale seat was in 2012. A member of the Akufo-Addo campaign team in the Northern Region during the recent NPP Presidential Primaries.

5. Theophilus Tettey- The ever powerful chairman of Ablekuma West. Popular and loved by the people. A man who could order Presidential aspirants not to step in his constituency because “He has declared operation 100% for Nana Addo”, filed to contest as independent candidate in Ablekuma West.

There are many more contesting for independent from the NPP stock. Interestingly, they are all loyalists of Nana Akufo-Addo.

Can you imagine if these where Afoko boys or girls?

Is this a case of failed leadership? Promising people heaven and earth will win you no election but lead to mistrust.
